it is not free... only 3 day trial, then have to pay. bye. you responded back saying you give 2 FREE identifications per day: NOT TRUE.

so far this app is great ! my only complaint is that you only get 2 scans then have to wait like 9 hours. im fine with having limited scans but only 2 is kinda absurd like they're trying too hard to get you to buy the subscription. but otherwise its been mostly accurate besides one moth which was kindof my fault (photo of the side of the moth instead of straight down) and I do like the little quiz they have .

The scan limit exists because running our AI identification — servers, model training and infrastructure — is genuinely costly, and subscriptions help us cover it. We hear you though, and we'll consider adjusting the limits. Glad the quiz is a hit, and yes — top-down photos work best!
It identified a grass weaver as a brown recluse. Completely wrong and fear mongering.

Thank you for your feedback. Identification accuracy strongly depends on photo quality — zoom, focus, blur, lighting and the angle of the shot. For the best results, we recommend taking a clear, well-lit close-up photo of the insect.

Hi! Sorry to hear you're not happy with the app. Could you tell us a bit more about what went wrong? Whether it's a misidentification, a bug, or something else, We'd like to help sort it out.
Just wanted to upload a photo of a beetle I took, and despite giving permission to access storage multiple times, as well as resetting the app, wouldn't work. Some of those permissions it wanted were genuinely nefarious as well, so good riddance.

This app definitely surprised me. Most bug identifier apps either require a payment to use the app, get the bug species entirely wrong, or both. This app is actually free to use; you are limited to 2 identifications per day, but with how accurate it is, I'd say that's reasonable. There is an option to pay for unlimited scans per day. Also when you scan the bug it not only tells you what it is but it tells you information about it, like where it lives or if it is harmful.
