• One condition, many devices: pick several Bluetooth devices and fire when any of them connects or comes nearby, or when all of them are gone. • Nearby conditions can now require a device to be close, not just in range, so a desk speaker doesn't trigger from the next room. • Rename devices in the picker, so "WH-1000XM4" can just be "Work headphones". Your names show up in Tasker too. • Devices now show an icon for what they are, and a mystery device can be looked up online in one tap.
Tasker plugin: trigger profiles on Bluetooth connection or nearby devices.
Bluetooth Detection is a condition plugin for Tasker. It reports Bluetooth state back to Tasker so your profiles can act on it. Four conditions: • Connected — a device is connected, optionally on a specific profile (A2DP, headset, or any) • Disconnected — that device is no longer connected • Nearby — a device is in range, whether or not it is connected • Not nearby — it has dropped out of range Target one specific paired device, or anything that matches. Nearby conditions can be narrowed by device class, so a profile can react to headphones without reacting to your car. Every condition takes a delay, so a device that flickers in and out of range does not flap your automation. A few things people build with it: switch to a driving profile when the car stereo connects, mute notifications when the headphones come off, unlock settings when a specific tracker is in the room, run a wind-down routine when the speaker in the bedroom is nearby. Requires Tasker, which is a separate purchase. This app does nothing on its own. It adds conditions inside Tasker. PERMISSIONS Bluetooth connect and scan are the app's core function: it has to see connections and scan for nearby devices to answer at all. The app never uses scanning to work out where you are. Nearby detection runs as a foreground service with a visible notification, because Android will otherwise stop background scanning and your profile will silently stop firing. On Android 11 and earlier the system additionally required the location permission before any app could run a Bluetooth scan; it is requested only on those versions and never used to read your location. PRIVACY Device names, Bluetooth addresses, and scan results stay on your device. They are never uploaded. The app sends anonymous usage and crash data to help fix bugs, along with an approximate region derived from your IP address. You can turn it off in the app.
