you can add books without an isbn bar code by searching for title/author. yes it's buggy now but they have an upgrade planned. it meshes well with the desktop version I do most of my work on, and allows me to see what books I own when I'm attracted to buy more.
Easy to add books but super difficult to remove books!! If it were easier to remove the books you no longer have or miss scanned books it would be great.
Accidentally added a book twice; the app crashes if I try to delete the duplicate. You can't search with the scanner, ok fine. But it will automatically add a duplicate copy of a book (no warnings or anything, just adds), and then it won't allow you to fix the mistake. I now have duplicates in my library that I can't get rid of or the whole app crashes. Every time. I want to use it! Goodreads is cool but has its own issues, so hoping this one would work. I'll probably uninstall it.
I really want to like the app. I like the search function and scanning function is convenient. The scanning function will sometimes generate the wrong book. However what makes the app almost unusable is that when I try to delete a mis-scanned book from my collection, the app crashes every. single. time. It takes many times of reopening the app and trying to delete a book. I'm looking for a new app now because I can't handle it.
uploads and finds the book info great but seems to crash any time you try to delete a double entry. may just be a bug in the current version
Would give this a better rating but, even though it makes it much more convient to add books with the scan feature, the sound effect is headache inducing! Please either remove it or add a way to turn it off! It's truly aweful!
I love it when it works... thw scanner is over-eager and scans barcodes multiple times, misreading them and sometimes adding in books I don't have or duplicating them. Deleting them crashes it and often they're still there when I reopen it. Did I spend a chunk of my day off scanning my books in anyway? Yup. I might need to restart with a new app though, looking at how long it was since its last update.

LibraryThing itself is great, but the app is full of bugs. Scanning books almost always results in either a duplicate scan of the book, or getting a single of scanned book plus the addition of a completely unrelated book. Trying to delete a book causes the program to crash every time, and trying to edit and save crashes sometimes.

I want to love this app but I scanned a book and it added 3 to my library. I tried scanning another and it added another 4. So now my collection says 7, but it's really 2 books I have, and 5 that I am unable to delete without the app crashing.

A drop after an update usually means the update broke something.
