Obstacles, text, scene offline
Hear what is in front of you. PathSense is a scene narrator for blind and low-vision users. Point your phone ahead and it tells you how far the nearest obstacle is, reads text out loud and describes your surroundings. Everything runs on the phone: no internet, no account, nothing leaves the device. OBSTACLES • Distance to the nearest obstacle, split into left, center and right • Vibration pulses get faster as you get closer; a distinct pattern when something is very close • Optional sound cues, adjustable alert distance (1–5 m / 3–16 ft), brief or detailed announcements • Uses the 3D sensor on Pro-model phones; other devices get an approximate estimate TEXT • Hold the phone up to a sign, a door plate, a menu or a page and the text is read aloud • New text is read automatically as it appears; double-tap the screen to read right now • Recognizes many scripts on device, including Latin, Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Devanagari PRO (one-time purchase) • Document reader: capture a page, read it line by line, copy or share it • Scene narrator: doors, stairs, people, vehicles, furniture and places around you • Reading history saved on the device BUILT FOR SCREEN READERS • Works with VoiceOver and TalkBack; every control is labeled and at least 64 pt tall • Speaks in 14 languages; high-contrast dark interface for low vision • Keeps the screen awake while guiding 100% ON DEVICE Camera frames are never stored or uploaded.
