I've been a digital subscriber for years and the app has always been terrible, not user-friendly at all. They made some upgrades a while back, which was a small improvement, but now the app won't load/open most of the time. My husband has the same problem with it on his phone. For how much we pay for digital-only access, we should expect a decent app.

Doesn't work well at all. I have updated the Merced Sun Star app to the latest version that is available on Google Play Store. Paywalled. Uninstalled I wouldn't pay to read the same 5 articles spread out in the app for a week.

It's a free app to download but how is it that you cant view the articles until you subscribe and pay! Really
