Fine motor skills for autistic kids: trace & color shapes, track progress.
Autism Fine Motor Skills offers finger tracing and coloring activities for autistic children, with simple screens and settings that parents and caregivers can adjust. FOLLOW A PATH, MAKE A MARK Trace lines, curves and shapes with a finger or stylus. Start with a straight line or choose circles, squares, triangles and more. Use Show me for an optional demonstration, undo a mark, and finish whenever you choose. COLOR AT YOUR OWN PACE Add color inside familiar shapes with an adjustable brush. The result screen shows the marks you actually made, with no scores or pass/fail messages for the child. ADJUST THE PRACTICE Choose a wider or narrower tracing path, change the brush and shape size, and turn start and finish cues on or off. Reduced motion and stronger contrast options let families adjust the experience. Practice is silent, and demonstrations are optional. RETURN TO UNFINISHED WORK Unfinished drawings are saved on the device so you can return to them. Drawing coordinates adapt to screen size and rotation. If a completed attempt cannot be saved, the drawing stays on screen so you can try again. SEE PRACTICE OVER TIME A parent area behind a simple gate shows recorded attempts, practice time, and coverage and accuracy charts. Charts compare attempts with matching activity, support and input settings. Older attempts made with the previous scoring method remain separate from new scores. The history is shared on the device; there are no individual child profiles. These figures describe practice in the app and are not a developmental assessment or a measure of therapeutic outcomes. Store screenshots showing charts use labeled example data. SIMPLE AND LOCAL The tracing and coloring activities work offline. No account or in-app purchase is required. Drawings, preferences and progress are stored on the device, with cloud backup and device transfer disabled. Removing the app also removes this data. Practice has no advertising interruptions. The parent area includes links to other missingSTEP apps, including AAC Talk for customizable communication boards and Sensory Garden for sensory play. Those links open Google Play and require an internet connection. Every child's preferences and support needs are different. Explore the settings together and choose the activities and pace that suit your child.
