Start a session, hold the phone still, and ask a question out loud. Spirit Box reads your phone's magnetometer — a real sensor, and the field readings on screen are real. When the field is stronger or more erratic, the box draws words more often. One word at a time, large on a dark screen, spoken aloud if you want it to be. TEXT OR SPEECH Three modes. Text puts the word on screen. Speech says it out loud through your phone's own voice, with the rate and pitch under your control. Silent runs the session and logs everything without saying a thing — useful when you're recording the room yourself. THE SESSION LOG Every word is saved with the time it came and the field strength that drew it. Stop a session and it goes into your history, so you can go back over it afterwards rather than trying to remember the order things came in. The microtesla figure on screen is a genuine measurement of the magnetic field around your phone. How OFTEN the box speaks is steered by that field — a stronger or more erratic reading makes words come faster. The words themselves are a random draw from a fixed vocabulary. They are not a message, and the app does not claim otherwise. What you make of them is the point of the session. Spirit Box is for entertainment. PRIVACY No account, no server, no microphone. Sessions are stored on your phone and nowhere else.
