Inspect ships, papers and cargo on a sea border. 30 days, 3 endings, offline
Read full description
Portwarden is a document inspection game on a sea border. Check each ship's papers, cargo manifest and draft line against a rulebook that keeps changing, then stamp it cleared or detained.
Thirty days at Port Aldmoor, a smuggling ring, a fever in the southern ports, and three endings decided by what you let through.
One-time purchase. No ads, no subscription, no account. Works fully offline.
A rulebook that keeps changing
When the rules change, the morning bulletin names exactly what changed: new rules on the warden's highlighter, lifted rules struck out. A rule never arrives without warning, so a change is a puzzle and not a trap.
Papers on your desk
Up to seven documents land at once, slightly rotated and overlapping. Slide a paper sideways to see what is under it, hold it to magnify the fine print, and tap one field then another to read them against each other. The game answers honestly: these match, these conflict, or no rule links these two at all.
Read the waterline
A port has a check no road border has. Compare the manifest total with the ship at the berth and Portwarden draws a dashed line where the water should sit for that weight. A hull riding below its own line is carrying cargo nobody declared. Later days add container seal checks and health declarations out of fever ports.
What you let through comes back
The port log tells you what the flawed ships you let through went on to do, usually two to six days after you stamped them. A name you have forgotten comes back in the night report with the day you let it through.
Three endings
Thirty written ships come to the desk, one each morning, and twelve of them put a permanent choice across it. Take the envelope or hand it back. Turn the fever ship away, find her a quarantine berth, or let her land the sick. The month ends in one of three written endings, and the choices that led there are listed under it.
Play at your pace
No shift clock, no energy, no streaks, no leaderboards. Your standing allows two warnings a day before a wrong stamp costs a point, and at zero the day starts again from its own morning. Every morning is saved, so Records can put you back at day 14 and let you take another road.
Made to be kept
Large document text in Settings lifts the fine print for anyone who needs it. Light and dark themes. Send your save through the share sheet and load it on another phone from the system file picker.
Every nation, flag, registry seal and office in the game is invented, and each one is drawn by the game itself. The story includes smuggling, bribery, disease and deaths, in text only.
