Sadly, as of late 2026 this no longer works. Google has removed two particular environment variables in the latest Android security update that EasyTether needs to work properly, including the flag that debug mode is active. As such, EasyTether can no longer verify debug mode and assumes that it's off, which kills the USB function in the app. The app is many years old, so it's unlikely to be fixed any time soon if at all.
I've been using it for four years on Windows and Ubuntu. The initial setup is a bit of a pain, but once it's there, it works flawlessly.
Has been working amazingly, but today it won't allow me to check box USB. It doesn't detect that USB debugging has been turned on. This is on a pixel 9a.

Along with others I noticed the app not working with my EVO 3d. It would drop my data service as soon as I plugged in my USB cord. Disconnecting and plugging again works for me but it is a problem. Having said that I've been using Easy tether for 3 years with no real problems. I have totally replaced my Comcast cable because of this program which allows me to do everything I want online including playing Pangya. Please don't rate this as a low app because your carriers have restricted tethering.

I tried at least 10 other tethering apps, even paid a few bucks for some of them not one worked. Was just about to give up then I found this one and it just works all the time!
"Abandonware" (or worse): This paid app no longer works on Ubuntu 22.04, although it used to work great on =<20.04. There are other paid apps of the same name/developer for sale, so BEWARE of purchase. Don't think that just because the lite version works today that the paid version will work next year.

It worked for me for about two years, but it seems to be broken with a recent Android or Windows update.

Sucks. Will be fast for 10 min, sometimes more. I gave the app all permissions, removed battery optimizations and network restrictions, and it still sucks. Need to close and re open app to get it at normal speed again. Sometimes need to reboot phone completely. I asked for a refund a few days after purchase and they did not give it to me.
