Deleted a photo or video? Media Rescue shows what is still in your phone's trash and puts it back — and fixes broken photos and videos that won't open. And it is honest about the rest: files erased from phone memory after every trash is emptied can't come back, with any app.
RESTORE FROM THE GALLERY TRASH
• Recently deleted photos and videos (Android 11 and newer): everything still in Android's 30-day trash, with the days left — restored to where it was, at full quality.
• Tick several and restore them in one go. Play a video with sound before you decide.
• An optional reminder a day before trashed files are erased for good.
• If your gallery keeps its own trash, Media Rescue tells you where to find it.
RECOVER WHATSAPP IMAGES AND HIDDEN COPIES
• WhatsApp copies of the photos and videos you sent, kept in WhatsApp's own folders — labelled as copies.
• Hidden copies in folders your gallery doesn't show.
FIX BROKEN PHOTOS AND VIDEOS
• Repair corrupted photos that were cut short, and videos that stopped suddenly and won't open.
• Photos are checked block by block: you see how much of the picture survived, and the repaired result, before you keep it.
• Save the repaired file straight to your gallery.
AFTER A FACTORY RESET
No app can recover photos after a factory reset from the phone's own memory: it is encrypted and wiped. What can come back is in a backup. A step-by-step assistant opens every place that may still hold your photos — Google Photos, your Google account backup, WhatsApp's backup on Google Drive, Telegram, and a memory card if one is inserted.
MAKE SMALL PHOTOS SHARPER (NEW)
Small or blurry photos and old previews: a model inside the app makes them four times larger and sharper — on your phone, nothing uploaded. The details are estimated, so faces and small text can differ from the real ones, and your original stays as it is.
MEMORY CARDS AND USB DRIVES (BETA)
USB and OTG recovery: plug in a card reader and Media Rescue reads the card directly to find deleted photos and videos.
WHAT NO APP CAN DO
• Bring back files erased from phone memory after every trash was emptied.
• Read the card slot inside your phone. Take the card out and use a USB card reader.
• Read your Google Photos cloud. Open photos.google.com instead.
