Breathing exercises you watch, not count. Calm down, sleep better, stay focused.
Breathe is a breathing exercise app you watch instead of count. A glowing glass orb paces every breath, so you can calm down, fall asleep or focus in a few minutes. The orb rides a slow wave, and the wave is your breath: it climbs as you breathe in, flattens through the hold and falls as you breathe out. The orb fills with water on the way up. There is nothing to read and no number to race. You just follow the light. 🏞️ FIFTEEN PLACES TO BREATHE Space, Mountains, Sea, Forest, Desert, River, Farm, Moon, Arctic, Beach, Savanna, City, Japanese Garden, Campfire and Volcano. Each has its own colors and its own night, and the land drifts slowly by as you breathe. Pick one, or get a new place every session. 🌙 WHY IT WORKS A longer exhale than inhale helps the body settle, so every rhythm built that way is marked Calming, and the app opens on one. Slow breathing at around five or six breaths a minute is where people report feeling calmer and more focused. Every breath is cued three ways at once: a visual, a soft sound and a gentle tap. 😌 WORKS WITH THE SCREEN OFF Close your eyes, or turn the screen off in bed: the session carries on by sound, a chime leads every breath, and it fades out on its own. 🌬️ SEVEN BREATHING TECHNIQUES, READY TO GO • Calm: a long exhale to settle down (4-2-8-2) • Unwind: an easy everyday reset (4-6) • Coherent: 5.5 seconds in and 5.5 out • Box: box breathing for steady focus under pressure (4-4-4-4) • 4-7-8: the classic 4-7-8 breathing for falling asleep • Focus: even and alert, for work and study (5-2-5-2) • Deep Rest: very slow, for winding all the way down (6-10) Or build your own: set any inhale, hold, exhale and hold, then name it and save it. Swipe sideways to change rhythm, tap to pause, press and hold to restart. 🎧 SOUND THAT STAYS OUT OF THE WAY Seven ambient sounds: Water, Rain, Beach, Campfire, Wind, Night or Silence. Seven breath cues: Singing Bowl, Xylophone, Tone, Clouds, Strings, Temple Bell and Synth, or none at all. Every sound is tuned to one musical key and matched in loudness, so any ambience plays under any cue without clashing. 🎯 A GOAL, NOT A TIMER Set a session in minutes or in breaths and a quiet pill counts it down. It never turns urgent, and it ends at the end of a breath, never mid-inhale. 🔔 A QUIET NUDGE Gentle reminders, up to two a day, at the times you choose, with a message you pick or write yourself. Long-press the app icon to start a rhythm straight away. 📈 PROGRESS THAT NEVER NAGS Lifetime minutes, breaths and sessions, a weekly view, and 102 badges across five kinds of practice, so a long Sunday session and three quiet minutes every morning both count. The daily streak is forgiving. Miss a day and it drops by one instead of resetting to zero. Milestones arrive as a ripple and a soft tap, never as a popup. 🎨 MAKE IT YOURS Five themes (Deep Calm, Moonlit, Forest Night, Ember and Ink) plus eleven colors you can set yourself: the water, the glow, the sky, the stars and more. 🔒 BUILT TO BE CALM • No ads, anywhere • No account, no sign-up, no email address • Your sessions, streak and badges stay on your phone • Anonymous usage counts only: never who you are, never sold, never shared • Works fully offline • A small download, under 6 MB • In 11 languages • Reduced motion, follows your system text size, optional keep-screen-on 🌿 GOOD FOR Falling asleep. Calming down from stress or an anxious moment. The minutes before a meeting, an exam or a flight. A deep breathing break in a long workday. A simple daily breathwork habit. Breathe is free, quiet, and made by one independent developer who wanted a breathing app that feels like somewhere to be rather than something to finish.
