If you backup to the Google cloud, you've got a fighting chance to merge your data. Not certain buying the ad-free version added to the experience, because it still has unacceptable record limitations and they want more $. Update: Record limit resolved, however, there remain permission issues preventing some app/data backups.

(Update: 8-2026) App will no longer install backed up APKs unless device is Rooted due to Googles new Installation signature check. I'll install app from Play, backup with this app, delete app off device, and then try restore app from this backup. I get app not installed. No longer worth the cost if device isn't rooted. (Original) Best app for backing up all data and apps. Went from HTC arise to unlocked Dell streak5 without losing apps or data. Worth the money.

Been using this app for years. It is simple and straight forward. Mainly though because it allows me to backup mms files in my sms messages.
