Inspect pixels, touch response, screen uniformity, & display specifications.
ScreenTest provides tools to inspect your Android phone or tablet’s display and touchscreen. Test touch responsiveness, check for visible pixel defects, examine colour patterns, and review supported display specifications. Use ScreenTest when checking a new device, inspecting a refurbished phone, troubleshooting display issues, or reviewing a screen after repair. Touch and Multi-Touch Tests - * Touch Test: View touch coordinates, pointer movement, and touch trails. * Multi-Touch Test: Check how many simultaneous touch points your device supports. * Touch Accuracy: Observe pointer movement and identify inconsistent touch paths. * Edge and Corner Test: Test touch responsiveness near screen edges and corners. * Dead Pixel Inspection: Display red, green, blue, white, black, and grey screens to help identify visible pixel defects. * Stuck Pixel Inspection: Cycle through colours to make certain display irregularities easier to notice. * Pixel Grid: Use fine and medium grids to inspect alignment and visible display artefacts. * Line Patterns: Check horizontal, vertical, and diagonal patterns across the screen. Explore how your display renders different colours and shades. * Colour Test: View primary and secondary colours, including RGB and CMY patterns, with colour code information. * Greyscale Test: Inspect gradients from black to white. * Banding Test: Compare stepped grey levels to identify visible transitions or banding. * Colour Gradients: View horizontal and vertical colour transitions. Display Uniformity and Brightness Use full-screen patterns to inspect visible differences across your display. * Screen Uniformity: Check for uneven tinting, brightness variation, or visible backlight irregularities. * Quadrant Guides: Use a 3×3 layout to compare different areas of the screen. * Contrast Test: Examine near-black and near-white patterns for visible shadow and highlight detail. * Brightness Patterns: View patterns at 10%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% levels. Results depend on the display, device settings, and viewing conditions. These tests help with visual inspection but do not provide laboratory-grade measurements. Guided Display Test Follow a sequential 12-stage test covering touch tracking, solid colours, gradients, edge sensitivity, and other display checks. Use the guided flow to work through the available tests in an organised way. Keep a record of issues noticed during testing. * Manual Issue Logging: Note visible pixel defects, colour tint, uneven brightness, or unresponsive touch areas. * Diagnostic Reports: Generate a structured summary of test results and recorded observations. * Share Reports: Use the Android sharing menu to send reports through supported apps, email, or other available sharing options. * Test History: Save and review previous diagnostic runs on your device. Reports summarise app-based tests and your recorded observations. They should not be treated as a certified hardware inspection. Display Specifications - View supported display information provided by Android system APIs, where available: * Screen resolution and pixel density (DPI) * Current and supported refresh rates * Reported screen dimensions * Available HDR capability information * Wide colour gamut support information Actual data handling depends on the app version and any third-party services included. Please review the app’s Privacy Policy for details. Important Disclaimer - ScreenTest provides software-based display and touchscreen inspection tools. It may help identify visible display irregularities and touch-response issues, but it cannot guarantee detection of every hardware defect. It does not replace professional repair diagnostics, laboratory testing, or specialised optical measurement equipment.
