Pencils Up runs a trivia night from your phone. Pick a pack, start the night, and teams join from a web page on their own phones. The questions go up on the TV. A NEW PACK EVERY WEEK Each pack is six rounds of six questions plus two tie-breakers. Every answer lists two independent sources, and the sources are on your phone during the night, so a disputed answer can be settled at the table. Accepted spellings and variants are listed with each answer. One complete sample pack is free. TEAMS JOIN FROM A WEB PAGE Start a night and the lobby shows a 4-character join code and a QR code. Teams open the page in any phone browser, type a team name and answer from their seat. THE HOST VIEW See answers arrive team by team. Lock the question, reveal the answer with its sources, and mark each team. Answers that match the key are pre-marked and you can change any mark. Standings update after every round. THE TV SCREEN A full-screen Screen view shows the question, the timer and the standings in large type. Show it on a TV from a tablet or phone, or open the TV link in the browser of a laptop or smart TV. PAPER MODE Print the host sheet with every question and answer, plus team answer sheets. Run the same night on paper: add teams by name and mark by hand. If the room connection drops, the night continues on paper. SAVE AND RESUME A night in progress is saved on your phone. Close the app and pick it up where you left it. PLANS The free sample pack has no time limit. The Venue plan opens every weekly pack, past and new, for bars, breweries and anyone running trivia for customers. Venue plan: $19.99 per month or $149.99 per year.
