Apparently, I was wrong in my previous attempt. It is possible to convert an existing OpenSSH key to RSA key and use it with the same Public key. After converting the private key to have the -----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY----- header, it connected without any problem.

The exception only happened for users with key of newer kind ed25519, which outputs this key header: -----BEGIN OPENSSH PRIVATE KEY----- instead of kind RSA: -----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY----- regenerating an RSA key (ssh-keygen -t rsa), made the exception go away.

Useful app. Works nicely if you can make a connection. Difficult to debug why not connecting sometimes. It says "Authentication type 10 is not supported". Not especially helpful as same credentials connect fOK from pgAdmin4 on other platforms.. Looks good apart from that.
