USE OF THE ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE (AccessibilityService API) Sleep Discipline uses Android's AccessibilityService API for the core sleep-window feature: helping you stay away from distracting apps during a protected sleep window. While a protected window is active, the “Sleep Discipline” accessibility service detects the app or Android system panel in the foreground. If you open an app that is not allowed during the window, the service returns you to the Sleep Discipline protected-window screen. It also dismisses the notification shade to reduce late-night distractions. Phone and SMS functions remain available for essential use. The service does not read screen content, text you view or type, or passwords. It does not collect, store, or share this content. The foreground app's package name is used only on your device to apply the protected-window rule while that window is active. The service does not block apps when no protected window is active. Enabling the service requires your explicit consent in Android Accessibility settings, and you can turn it off there at any time. Without it, Sleep Discipline cannot block distracting apps during a protected window.
