It said to refresh for an update tonight, so i did. now all the band settings i use are gone. i reinstalled to see if that would fix it, but it didn't.

Please contact support@strummachine.com if you're still having trouble – I'd like to know more about what happened. I checked your account and could see no evidence that any data was lost, but I take these things very seriously so I want to learn more. Thank you! —Luke
A friend of mine shared this app with me. I haven't played in years and just started back. I primarily flat pick fiddle tunes and bluegrass. This is one of the best tools for practice I have ever seen. Great job with it.
I am a semi-professional bluegrass musician & StrumMachine is as important to me as the case that holds my bass. It allows me to practice songs on infinite repeat at any tempo. The chords relieve the boredom of playing "by myself" as it were. My band uses it to teach new songs to each other – we'd be lost without it. Finally, Luke's transcription of "All You Need Is Love" shows that StrumMachine is sufficiently versatile to handle a complex twisty Lennon/McCartney tune. It will work for you.
great app!
very boring. not very helpful. all the songs that I looked for where not there.

Sorry about that, Greg. I'm going to be overhauling this in early 2026.
I hate paying for apps, but I love Strum Machine so much I'm delighted to subscribe. I use it every day to practice flatpicking, and it has helped my timing immensely. I also like that I can measure my progress as I increase the tempo on a song. The features are rich and it works extremely well. It's a challenge to find a bluegrass song that is not already in the library, but it's straightforward to add your own if you want.

“On the one hand, it's awesome as long as it runs, but OTOH I have yet to get through more than a couple repetitions of a song before it crashes.”

“Simple yet versatile backing track tool for practicing bluegrass/old-time - much more fun than playing with a metronome.”
