The Dev is genuinely so helpful. If you ever have questions or concerns regarding the app, he's answered every single time. Helped me go from IOS to Play Store. This app has so many real world applications that so many of us use overseas and everything we need for route planning, satellite imaging, and venue marking. Been using TacNav for years and dont plan on stopping.

Dude, I greatly appreciate the solid review! Feel free to hit me up anytime if you have feedback or issues, and just know that I’m truly thankful for your support. Take care, Michael! - Jon
This app is not useful for military planning or route planning. I guess if you just want to look at a map with MGRS coordinates, it can be useful for plotting individual points or your location. But it is not very user-friendly. For a free app, it's ok, just not an exceptional tool for military route planning or saving and sending GPX files with routes (or at least it's not intuitive to do so).

Thanks for the review, Allen. Appreciate you! - Jon
Hands down the best military nav app on Android... Total game changer downrange and in the field.. Had a question and the dev actually hit me back while he was laid up in a damn hospital bed. That's real leadership right there- dude takes care of the guys on the ground no matter what. Can't wait for the foldable screen update to drop so I can run this on a bigger display.

I appreciate the solid review, brother. Regarding the hospital stuff, it's the least I can do. Just how I like to do things. Foldable support is rolling out now. Big updates coming soon! - Jon
This is my son's app. He created this app during his combat tour to Afghanistan after two of his soldiers were killed. He continues developing Tactical NAV in honor of his fallen soldiers and he also donates proceeds from the app to disabled veterans. Jonathan has given his heart and soul into making this app available for other soldiers, and it's his way of giving back to the military community. We love you son, and dad and I are proud of you!

Hey Hunter, I really appreciate the review and kind words! You should be able to tap or click on an overlay file and import/open it directly in TACNAV. If you’re still having trouble, feel free to email me directly at jon@tacnavx.com and I’ll personally walk you through it. Take care, man! - Jon
Long time user and paid for the app twice and also paid for the drawing mode to help support. I am a little disappointed that there's still no team tracking and team tools for marking etc. I think the app should be kept simple nothing overly complicated and no weird stuff. Just simple nav, topo, 3D, mapping, team tracking and markers, with simple tools. I've used ATAK and absolutely love the team tools but it is a more complicated interface.

Hey Dalton, I appreciate the great review! I’m sorry you had to pay for the app twice... just hit me up via email and I’ll get that refunded for you. On team tracking, I totally hear you. It’s easily a $1M+ project on the backend, and as a small independent dev, I have to build toward that in stages. Thanks for sticking with the app, brother! – Jon
i love this app, i use it to supplement another mapping app that doesn't quite do what tacnav does, to which, im greatful for, i dont like however, the idea that it requires your current location to even function, i click "do not allow" and the app shutdown, i'd very much like to have the option to toggle on or off my current location and use it offline, otherwise solid app, solid 5 stars from me :)

Hey brother, thanks for the review! Really happy you're liking TACNAV and finding it useful. I totally agree with you on the location requirement, and I’m glad you called that out. Great feedback. I’ll talk to my dev team and see if we can get that tweaked so you’ve got more control there, especially for offline use. Take care, man! - Jon
love it simple lighter in space than atak ez to use and share. next best thing would be a real time team movement / tracking. maybe creat an on off feature using aprs to transmit every 30-60sec? anyways can't wait so far so good.
