English picture dictionary and object identifier camera to learn new words
SnapWord is an English picture dictionary built from the world around you. Point your camera at a cup, a chair or a tree and see the English word, hear it spoken and save it as a flashcard. A vocabulary builder for English vocabulary with pictures of real objects, not word lists. Some features need SnapWord Premium (monthly subscription or one-time lifetime purchase). Details are below. Your own visual dictionary Every word you learn is tied to a photo you took, so it sticks. The object identifier camera names any everyday object you snap, adds a simple example sentence and explains it in your own language (100+ languages supported). Your collection grows into a personal dictionary of the things you actually use, and you learn new words every time you look around. Flashcards with spaced repetition Each scanned word goes into your flashcards automatically. Spaced repetition brings words back right before you would forget them, so reviews stay short and the words stay. Word of the Day adds one new word daily with a definition and example sentence. Vocabulary games and quizzes Practise with quick quizzes and the Vanish game: name the object before it disappears. A daily hunt sends you to find real objects around the house, and everything you scan becomes a sticker in your collection. Streaks, with streak freezes, keep the habit going. Story Time SnapWord writes short stories using the words you have learned, so you see your English vocabulary in context. Free plan: 1 story per week. Premium: up to 5 stories per day. Learn 15 languages, not only English English is the default, and you can switch to Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Thai, Indonesian or Vietnamese. Learning German? SnapWord becomes a German picture dictionary for your home. The same works as a French picture dictionary or a Spanish picture dictionary for travel, and as a Japanese picture dictionary with native pronunciation. Korean and Chinese work the same way. For kids, beginners and curious minds Children learn first words by scanning toys and snacks, a fun alternative to flashcards for kids. ESL beginners use it as an English words learning app for daily life. Parents get a weekly progress report. How it works 1. Open the camera and snap any real object. 2. See the word, hear the pronunciation and read a simple example. 3. Review it later in flashcards, quizzes and games. Free plan and Premium Free plan: 2 scans per day (watch a short ad for one bonus scan) and 1 story per week. All flashcards, quizzes, games and Word of the Day stay available. SnapWord Premium (monthly subscription or one-time lifetime purchase): unlimited scans, no ads and up to 5 stories per day. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Manage or cancel anytime in Google Play > Payments & subscriptions. Privacy Photos you snap are uploaded to identify the object and to keep your scan history.
