Appliance energy calculator: watts, hours & your rate to kWh and cost per month
Find out what your appliances cost to run. Enter watts and hours per day, or kWh per use, add the rate from your electric bill, and see kWh and cost per day, month and year update as you type. Made for households, renters, RV and off-grid users, and small businesses who want a clear estimate before the bill arrives. Key Features - Many appliances in one calculation: space heaters, AC units, TVs, computers, fridges, dryers or anything with a label. - Two ways to enter power: watts × hours per day × days per week, or kWh per use × uses per week. - Standby power: add the watts an appliance draws while off but plugged in. - W or kW, rate per kWh or cents per kWh. Comma decimals work too. - Flat or tiered rates: set a tier limit and a second rate, plus your other monthly usage so the tier position is right. - Tax and fixed or demand charges as separate inputs. - Comparison table: monthly and yearly kWh and cost per appliance with a share bar. - Savings scenario: use less by 10, 25 or 50%, unplug standby, or try a different rate, and compare current vs scenario per month and per year. - Show your work: open "How it's calculated" to see formulas and assumptions. - Saved calculations: keep 20 recent results, reopen one as a copy, or copy the table as CSV text. - Choose your currency symbol. Works offline, no account needed. Good For - Checking what a space heater or window AC adds to the bill - Comparing an old fridge with a new one - Planning power use for an RV, cabin or battery setup - Splitting electricity costs by appliance Results are estimates based only on the values and rate you enter. The app has no built-in utility prices, does not connect to your utility or smart plugs, and does not promise savings or give solar or investment advice.
