Video player for your own library. Stream films from your PC to phone and TV.
Makimedia is a video player that turns the films and TV shows already on your devices into a beautiful library, with posters, cast, seasons and the place where you stopped. With Makimedia on your Windows PC, your whole library also streams to your phone, tablet and Android TV at home, with nothing to set up. YOUR LIBRARY, ORGANISED FOR YOU • Films and TV shows are recognised from their file names and folders • Posters, backdrops, overviews, cast and crew from TMDB, looked up once and kept on your device • TV shows sorted into seasons and episodes, with the next episode ready to play • Film collections and universes, in release order or story order • Continue watching, watched marks and your progress through every series • Sort, filter by genre, search your library, or let Surprise me pick something STREAM FROM YOUR PC TO EVERY SCREEN • Turn on streaming in Makimedia for Windows, and your phone, tablet and TV find the PC by themselves • No server to install, no account and no address to type • Watch the PC's films and shows with their posters and your progress • The video stays on your home network and never goes through the internet A PLAYER MADE FOR EACH SCREEN • Phone and tablet: double-tap to skip, swipe for volume and brightness, pinch to zoom, hold to play faster, and a lock against accidental taps • Android TV: every screen works with the remote alone, with a clear focus ring and hardware decoding for 4K • Plays MKV, MP4, AVI, MOV, WebM, TS, M2TS, WMV, FLV, MPG and more • Subtitles in SRT, ASS, SSA, VTT and more, found automatically next to your videos • Missing subtitles? On phone and tablet, find them online at opensubtitles.com and load them straight away • Choose subtitle size, colour, outline and position, and adjust subtitle and audio delay • Switch audio tracks and subtitles, with your preferred languages remembered PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No account, no ads and no subscription • No analytics and no tracking • Works offline: only posters and details are fetched, once per title, and subtitles only when you ask for them • Free and open source under the GNU General Public License GOOD TO KNOW Makimedia is a video player, not a streaming service. It doesn't provide any films or shows; it plays video files you already have. Streaming from a PC needs Makimedia for Windows on the same home network. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Help and website: makimedia.org Source code: github.com/Ognjen14/Makimedia
