AI recipes from a photo or a typed dish, plus a calorie and macro food log.
Cook EZ writes you a recipe and keeps a food log in the same app. Point the camera at dinner, a fridge shelf, a menu, or a stained recipe card. You can also pick a photo you already have, share one in from Photos or Instagram, type the dish you want, or dump the ingredients sitting on the counter. The app names what it sees, then builds a recipe around your diet, allergies, the pans you own, how much time you have, how many people you are feeding, and how confident you feel at the stove.
TASTE PROFILE AND RECIPE CARDS
During setup you tell Cook EZ what you eat and what you skip. Dairy, nuts, shellfish, and gluten stay out of the card unless you change that later. You can change servings, tighten the time budget, or add a note for this one dish before it writes. The card comes back with a title, a plated photo, an ingredient list with quantities, substitutions when they make sense, and numbered steps. Many steps carry their own photo so you can see the mix after the onions go in. Each card also shows prep time, cook time, difficulty, equipment, and calories per serving.
COOK MODE
Cook Mode puts one step on the screen in large type and keeps the phone awake. Swipe to the next instruction. Timers sit on the step itself, so a twelve minute simmer is a tap. Pull up the ingredient drawer for the current step, scale the recipe to half or double, and switch metric and US units, including oven temperatures. If a step mentions a finish temperature, you can cook chicken or fish to a safe point. Finish the last step and you can photograph what you made, check in the cook streak, log the calories, and rate the recipe.
LOG THE MEAL
The same camera can log a plate. Photograph leftovers or a restaurant dish and Cook EZ estimates calories, protein, carbs, and fat for each item it can see, with a portion you can slide up or down. Remove something it invented. Add something it missed. Swap a guess for a barcode or a database match. Save the meal under breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack, with the photo attached. If you skip the camera, scan a barcode, search the food database, type a quick calorie number, repeat yesterday lunch, or log a serving from a saved recipe. The day calorie ring and macro bars move as soon as you save. You can send those totals to Apple Health or Health Connect when you opt in.
COOKBOOK, PANTRY, AND SHOPPING
Every recipe you generate or save lands in the cookbook. Make collections for weeknights, guests, or batch cooking. Recently cooked sits on its own tab. Add ingredients to a shopping list that merges duplicates and groups them by supermarket aisle. The pantry remembers what you already have. Photograph a shelf or type chickpeas and rice, then ask it to cook from what is in the house. The recipe stays inside those ingredients plus staples like salt, pepper, and oil.
JOURNAL AND STREAK
A cook streak counts the calendar day you actually cooked. Check in with a photo, a short note, and a rating. The journal becomes a grid of plates you made. Weekly cook goals, a Monday week strip, and a 28 day heat calendar sit in the same place. Fifteen languages ship with the app. Switch metric and US customary any time.

Weekly, monthly, and yearly subscriptions are available.
NUMBERS AND SAFETY
Calorie and macro numbers are estimates built from USDA FoodData Central and, for packaged food, Open Food Facts. Cook EZ is not a medical device. Always verify allergens on the card and on the package. If you listed dairy as an allergy and the sauce is still creamy with cream in the ingredient list, do not cook that card. Report it and generate again without dairy. Cook meat, fish, and leftovers to a safe internal temperature.
