Steno is an AI note taker that turns lectures, meetings and voice notes into text, summaries and study material. Record in the app, or import an audio file, a PDF, photos or pasted text. Steno transcribes the audio, writes a structured summary and builds flashcards and a quiz you can study from. Stay focused on the lecture or the conversation. Steno does the note taking afterwards. RECORD OR IMPORT • Record lectures, meetings, interviews and voice notes, with pause and resume. Recording continues while the screen is off. • Import audio files (MP3, M4A, WAV, AAC, FLAC, OGG and more) to convert audio to text from recordings you already have. • Import a PDF: slides, papers or handouts. • Scan book pages, handouts or a whiteboard with the camera, or pick photos from your gallery. • Paste any text. VOICE TO TEXT TRANSCRIPTION When you finish recording, the audio is transcribed to text on our servers. The transcript shows timestamps and separates speakers, and a built-in player lets you listen back, jump to any point and change the playback speed. Recordings of up to 4 hours are supported. Search every transcript later by keyword. AI SUMMARY Every note gets a title, a summary, key points and important terms with short definitions. Switch between short, medium, detailed and simplified summaries. FLASHCARDS AND QUIZ Steno turns each note into flashcards. Sort them into "I know it" and "I don't know" and review only what you missed. Then take a multiple-choice quiz, see your score and read why each answer is correct. CHAT WITH YOUR NOTES Ask questions about a note and get answers based only on its content. Suggested questions help you get started. PRIVACY No sign-up is needed and your notes are stored on your phone. Audio, text, photos and PDFs are sent to our servers for AI processing, and uploaded audio is deleted from the server once transcription is finished.
