Very fast responsive dictionary app. The best friend of the crossword solver.
I've just installed this as a replacement for another premium dictionary that decided to change to a subscription model and not honour previous payments. Anyway this seems to work just as well, in fact it handles wildcards better. The only improvement I can see so far, would be to add sound clips to aid in pronunciation.

I've used this Android app for many years and have never had any problems with it until now. Although a small issue in the scheme of things, as I write Tasker code to make apps do things I want the latest behaviour is an unwanted irritation. I'm referring to now having to press Back twice in order to exit the app, plus an intrusive toast telling me to do this. There's no option to dispense with this unnecessary step (compare with X-plore to see how it should be done).

Since 25/11/25 the app has stopped working properly. It will occasionally let me look up a word if it hasn't already inserted a random word (usually gauntlet and zho) but I am unable to search as the keyboard and 'search' button do not appear. I've re-installed the app, but the problem remains. I'm using a Samsung tablet on Android. Five stars are for yesterday when it was working properly.

There is an update today which should hopefully fix this, please email us if not.
App has recently changed so that when you switch from Search to Lookup it deletes the pattern in the search bar and reverts to the last Lookup search pattern. This is really frustrating. Please can you return it to how it was before?

Please could you contact us directly with a screenshot or two? If you have a pattern search set, switching to lookup the pattern will generally not be a word and hence a not valid lookup - I'm not aware of this having changed recently..
