Version 1.0.0, the first one. • Long nardy by the rules: one checker off the head per turn, no hitting, a mars scores 2 • Short nardy too; the computer at Easy, Normal or Hard, matches to 1, 3, 5 or 7 points • Dice under seal: a seal code before the first roll, the key and "Check the dice" after the game, a dice log • Big checkers on a landscape board; play without internet or sign-up • Menus and rules in 13 languages
Long backgammon (nardy) and short nardy vs the computer. Dice log, no sign-up.
Long nardy (also written nardi or narde) starts with all fifteen of your checkers stacked on one point, the head. Both players travel the same way round the board, and no checker is ever hit. Play it here against the computer, along with short nardy, in matches to 1, 3, 5 or 7 points. No internet or account is needed to play, and after each game you can check every roll. LONG NARDY BY THE RULES • The head: one checker per turn may leave the head. Only your first turn differs: with 6-6, 4-4 or 3-3, two may go. • One direction: both sides move counter-clockwise, from their own head towards their own home. • No hitting: a single checker owns a point, and the other side may not land there. • Six in a row: a wall of six points is allowed only once an opponent checker has passed it. • Scoring: a plain win (oyn) earns 1 point; a mars, when the loser has borne off nothing, earns 2. • Try a forbidden move and a short note names the rule that stops it. An opening roll of one die each decides who starts; after that, games alternate. Short nardy uses the classic backgammon rules: opposite directions, a lone checker hit to the bar, two checkers to make a point, and a mars worth 2. Neither game has a doubling cube. DICE UNDER SEAL Every game's rolls are fixed and sealed before it begins. A secret key from your phone's secure random generator produces them, and its short seal code is shown before anyone moves. After the game the key is opened: tap "Check the dice" to confirm that it fits the seal and produced each roll, or repeat the test outside the app with any HMAC-SHA256 tool. • The dice log keeps both players' rolls beside the moves played. • Nothing you play, and no difficulty level, changes a roll. The computer works from the board and the current roll alone. • Dice statistics set your numbers, doubles and all 21 rolls against the band random dice stay inside 99 times in 100. THE COMPUTER ACROSS THE BOARD For long nardy, the computer uses a neural network that learned from one million games against itself. • Easy plays a relaxed, human game and slips now and then on purpose. • Normal picks the move its network values most. • Hard thinks one roll further, weighing all 21 rolls that could come next. A hint draws the whole suggested move in numbered arrows, using only the board and your dice. First match? Short tips explain each step, and the illustrated rules stay in the menu. BIG AND CLEAR Large checkers by default, numbers that are easy to read, and a board that fills the landscape screen. • Movable checkers glow, and gold circles show where they can land. • To move, tap a checker and then a circle, tap a die, drag, or double-tap for the larger number. • Undo works until you confirm the turn with Done. • Adjust checker size and colour, home side, point numbers, pip counts, speed and animation; forced moves and rolls can be automatic. • Two boards: carved Walnut and green Malachite. • Stop mid-match and carry on later with the same dice. PRACTICE, STATISTICS, RANKINGS • Practice from a dice code: one code always repeats the same rolls, and practice stays unranked. • Your statistics count matches and games won, mars wins and streaks. • Rankings by wins, weekly and all-time, show you under a nickname from a ready-made list. The rankings use the internet; the game itself plays without it. • Menus and rules in 13 languages: Русский, English, Deutsch, Français, Español, Português, Italiano, Türkçe, Ελληνικά, हिन्दी, Bahasa Indonesia, 日本語, 한국어. Fifteen checkers on the head, the dice under seal: your move.
