Read, annotate and rework PDFs on your phone — and keep the files on your phone. READ AND ANNOTATE • Pen, fountain pen, pencil and marker, with an eraser • Highlight text • Sticky notes, text boxes and shapes • Sign with your finger and place the signature on the page • Redact: black boxes on an exported copy — the text, the images and the form-field values under them are removed from the file, not just painted over. A page that can't be edited safely is turned into an image instead, and that page is no longer searchable. Your original document is never changed REWORK • Merge several PDFs into one, or split one into several • Extract selected pages • Reorder pages, reverse a selection or add a blank page • Compress to make a file small enough to send • Crop and resize pages • Add a watermark or page numbers • Images to PDF, and PDF to images • Extract the text of a document OCR ON YOUR DEVICE Read the text out of scans and photos in Latin, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Devanagari scripts. The recognition models for all five are part of the app and run on the phone. SCAN Use the camera to scan a document straight into a PDF, with edge detection. PROTECT Set a password on a document, or remove one you know. A strength indicator tells you when a password is too short to be worth setting. Lock the app itself behind your fingerprint or face. ORGANISE A library with tags, search, favourites and a trash you can restore from. Start a new blank note on plain, lined, grid, dotted, Cornell or music-staff paper. QUICK ACCESS A quick settings tile opens the app on the scanner from anywhere. Capturing a page is one more tap. ABOUT PRIVACY, PRECISELY Your documents stay on your device. The app has no account, no sign-in and no backend of its own, and it never uploads a file. Scanning and OCR use Google's ML Kit, which runs its models on the device but also ships Google's own telemetry component (a per-install identifier and performance data — never your document content) — so this app is not free of third-party code, and we would rather say so than claim otherwise. There are no ads. Requires Android 8.0 or later.
