Horse riding journal: GPS rides, care reminders, health and training log.
Roanio is the riding journal that remembers everything — the ride you just finished, the farrier who came in March, what your horse weighed in spring, and the score you got at that show. It all lives on your phone. No account, no sign-up, no ads. It works in the arena with no signal and on the trail with no bars, in 40 languages — and every feature is free. ONE TIMELINE PER HORSE Rides, care, vet notes, weight, competition results and costs on one line, in order, for every horse — not five screens that never meet. TRACK ANY SESSION • GPS rides with route, distance, speed, splits and elevation • Arena, lunging and in-hand work with no GPS — just the timer • Keeps recording with the screen off; pause or finish from the notification • Route playback: watch the ride draw itself on the map • Tag your own gaits by swiping the timeline — Roanio never guesses walk from trot • Spoken distance updates, and an interrupted ride is offered back A JOURNAL YOU'LL ACTUALLY KEEP • Notes, exercises, tags and photos on every session • How the horse felt, and how you rode, in two taps • Full-text search across everything you have ever written • Every photo you have taken, gathered onto one wall • Month calendar, planner, templates and GPX import from your old app CARE THAT DOESN'T SLIP • Farrier, vaccinations, worming, dentist, physio and your own routines • Repeat intervals with reminders from your phone, not a server • Care Score: an honest count of how much of your schedule is on time • Feed board with stock warnings, tack checks, and your vet and farrier one tap from a call HEALTH RECORDS • Vet visits, injuries, lameness and treatment notes with photos • Medication courses with dosing reminders and a clear-to-compete countdown • Temperature, pulse and respiration against your horse's own baseline • Weight, girth and body condition over time • An emergency vet card and a document vault with expiry reminders MONEY AND SHOWS • Expenses with categories, budgets and recurring costs • Competition results, dressage test sheets and season summaries • Vet, trainer and cost reports as a PDF for any period EVERYTHING ELSE, OFFLINE • 28 schooling exercises with arena diagrams you can drop into a session • 33 care cards, every medical claim carrying its source — AAEP, Merck, NRC, FEI, BHS • Four training programmes that write real sessions into your log • Fix It: what to try, in order — and when to rule out pain first • First-aid checklist, arena letters, calculators, a metronome and a packing list • Explore: a wall of horse photography for inspiration PROGRESS • Week, month and year stats against the period before • Consistency streak, your own goals and personal records • Gait mix, Year in the Saddle and two sessions side by side RIDE CHECK-IN Set a "back in 60 minutes" timer before you hack out. Roanio reminds you, and hands you a ready-written message with your location for someone at home. Nothing is ever uploaded. MADE FOR YOUR PHONE • Home-screen widgets for your weekly goal and the next care task due • Shortcuts: start a ride, log a session, see what's due • Lock your journal with your fingerprint or face unlock • Barn mode: a red screen that keeps your night vision in the dark yard • Four colour themes, light and dark • A backup file you keep, plus CSV and GPX export COMPLETELY FREE Unlimited horses and sessions, PDF reports, expenses, competitions, documents, insights, session comparison, CSV export, app lock and themes are all included. No ads, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases. Roanio is a record-keeping tool. It is not a veterinary device and does not give veterinary advice — always ask your vet.
