Plan your raised bed in a minute: create a bed, tap a plant, tap or swipe over squares. Beetwell instantly shows which plants are good neighbours and which are not, and its planting calendar tells you when to sow, plant out and harvest. EVERY PLANT IS FREE Almost 80 vegetables, herbs, salads and companion flowers, from tomato, zucchini and carrot to rosemary, basil and marigold. No plant behind a paywall, herbs included. GARDEN LAYOUT PLANNER WITH A GRID • Raised bed, vegetable plot or window box in 1 ft squares (square foot gardening) • Place plants by tapping or swiping, eraser and undo • How many plants fit per square, with spacing in the row and between rows • One tap: fill the bed with good neighbours COMPANION PLANTING CHECK Between two squares a green seam marks good neighbours and a red one bad neighbours, for example tomato and basil versus tomato and potato. Every tip has a "Why?" with its source. We only show pairs named by horticultural institutes and extension services and drop pairs where sources disagree. PLANTING CALENDAR FOR YOUR CLIMATE Sowing and planting dates count from your average last frost: pick your USDA zone (3 to 9), a Central European region or enter your own frost dates. Month by month you see what to start indoors, sow outdoors, plant out and harvest, for all plants or only yours. NOW IN THE GARDEN The home screen shows what is due in the next two weeks. Mark when you sowed or planted and Beetwell works out when you can harvest.
