Zero Trace is a private photo vault and gallery vault. Hide photos, hide videos and lock files behind a password only you know. Everything is encrypted on your phone first, then backed up to your own Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive, so your private gallery follows you to a new phone and nobody else can open it. Most gallery lock apps keep hidden photos on one phone. Lose the phone and the pictures are gone. Zero Trace is a secret photo vault with encrypted cloud backup, and your photos never pass through us: there are no Zero Trace servers, no account to create, no ads and no analytics. HIDE PHOTOS AND VIDEOS • Photo vault and video vault in one private gallery, with swipe, pinch to zoom and a built-in video player • Import from your gallery and choose to remove the originals, so hidden pictures no longer show in your phone's gallery. Copies in other backup services are not touched • Private camera: photos you take in the app go straight into the vault and never reach your gallery • Organise your private photos with tags, favourites, sorting and search • Select many items at once to tag, star or move them • 30-day Trash, so a hidden photo deleted by mistake can be restored FILE LOCKER, DOCUMENT SCANNER AND VOICE MEMOS • File vault for PDFs, documents and any other file you want to lock • Read PDF, Word, Markdown and text files inside the app • Document scanner: scan pages into one PDF, saved straight into the vault • Encrypted voice memo recorder, with the option to keep recording while the screen is off • Share files into the vault from other apps PRIVATE NOTES AND JOURNAL • Encrypted journal for secret notes, with rich text, highlights and pinned entries • Link entries to each other by title • Import your notes from Notion or Obsidian APP LOCK FOR YOUR VAULT • Master password, plus fingerprint or face unlock • Auto-lock when you leave the app, and shake to lock in an instant • Intruder photo: a front-camera picture of whoever enters a wrong password, with a break-in log • Screenshots and screen recording are blocked, and the preview in recent apps is blank • Growing delays after repeated wrong passwords ENCRYPTED CLOUD BACKUP IN YOUR OWN CLOUD • AES-256 encryption on your device, before anything is uploaded • File names, types and tags are encrypted too. Your cloud provider only sees scrambled data with meaningless names • Stored in your own Google Drive. Add Dropbox and OneDrive accounts for more space • Camera backup: new photos are encrypted and uploaded while the app is open and unlocked • Keep files offline for flights and dead zones, still encrypted on your phone • Storage overview and duplicate finder to free up space • Get a new phone, connect your cloud account, enter your recovery phrase, and your photo vault is back OPTIONAL DISGUISE Zero Trace works as a normal vault app. If you want extra cover, you can switch these on in Settings: • Calculator disguise: the app opens as a real, working calculator until you type your PIN • A different app icon on your home screen: Calculator, Notes or Fitness • Decoy vault: a second password opens a separate vault with different contents, to keep a casual look away from the real one YOUR KEYS, NOT OURS You hold a 12-word recovery phrase. No key is ever uploaded, and no password reset exists on our side, because we never have anything to reset. RECOVERY: KEEP YOUR PHRASE SAFE Your 12-word recovery phrase is the only way into your vault on a new phone. If you lose the phrase and your device, nobody can recover your files.
