About this app
Voice typing keyboard and floating mic. Speak in 40+ languages, in any app.
Talk instead of typing. VoxType is a voice typing keyboard and floating mic that turns speech to text in any app: messages, email, notes, search, social posts, anywhere you can type. Tap the mic, speak, and your words appear with punctuation, almost instantly. TWO WAYS TO USE IT • Voice keyboard: a full keyboard with a mic button on the toolbar. Type normally, dictate whenever you like. • Floating mic: keep the keyboard you already use and add a mic button you can drag anywhere on screen. Tap it, speak, and the text goes into the field you are in. SPEAK IN 40+ LANGUAGES Dictate in English and more than 40 other languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Arabic, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Indonesian and Japanese. Lock one language for the best accuracy, or let VoxType detect it. For many languages you can also choose how the text comes out: in the native script, in Roman letters (for example Hinglish), or translated into English. Roman letters and translation are part of Pro. CLEAN TEXT WITH AI POLISH (PRO) AI Polish tidies up speech: it fixes punctuation and grammar and cuts the ums and fillers, while keeping what you meant. Writing modes can turn a spoken ramble into a short email, a chat reply or tidy notes. FREE MINUTES EVERY DAY, OR YOUR OWN KEY • VoxType Cloud: no account needed to start. Free use includes a daily allowance of VoxType Cloud minutes, and each dictation can run up to 30 seconds. Optional rewarded ads can add more minutes or unlock Pro tools for a while. • Your own key: connect your own account with a speech provider such as Groq, OpenAI or Sarvam AI. Dictation then runs on your provider account with no VoxType Cloud time limit, and your audio goes from your phone straight to that provider. Your provider's own limits, terms and charges still apply. • VoxType Pro (monthly, annual or lifetime, bought through Google Play): dictations up to 60 seconds on VoxType Cloud, a bigger daily allowance, AI Polish and writing tools, more keyboard themes, and no ads. A REAL KEYBOARD TOO • Swipe typing, next-word predictions and autocorrect that learn how you write • Emoji, GIFs and stickers • Clipboard history, with copied text and one-time codes offered above the keys for one-tap paste • Text shortcuts: type a short code, get your saved phrase • Your own dictionary for names and jargon • Number row, one-handed mode, adjustable height • Keyboard themes in the Prism, Tonal, Tactile and VoxType styles, light and dark. Some are Pro. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • What you type stays on your phone. Suggestions, autocorrect and learned words are worked out on the device. • Your voice is recorded only while you dictate. Online dictation needs an internet connection: the audio is sent over HTTPS to a speech provider, either VoxType Cloud (which passes it to Groq or Sarvam AI and does not store it) or your own provider if you added a key. • AI features send only the text being polished, and only when you use them. • History stays on your phone. You can turn it off or delete it. • Signing in is optional. Cloud backup is off until you turn it on. • Crash reports and basic usage statistics, with no typed or dictated text, are on by default. Turn them off in Settings, Privacy. • Ads appear only in the main app, never in the keyboard. Pro removes them. ABOUT THE FLOATING MIC AND ACCESSIBILITY The optional floating mic uses Android's AccessibilityService to show a button over other apps and to insert your dictated text into the text field you are using. If you turn on the "send it" voice command, it can also press an app's Send button when you end a dictation with that phrase. VoxType does not read, store or send what is on your screen. You choose whether to turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time in Android Settings, Accessibility. The voice keyboard does not need this permission.
