The first release of Matawang. Rates for 172 currencies, including gold, silver, platinum and Bitcoin. Pick your own base currency, pin up to 5 favourites, and see how each rate moved over the last 24 hours. A converter with a full keypad, plus conversion history kept on your device. There is a home screen widget too, for checking favourites without opening the app. Your last rates are saved on the phone, so they still read with no connection.
172 currencies, a fast converter, and a widget. Works offline, no account.
How much is 1 USD worth in your money today? What does 500 SGD come to? Matawang answers at a glance, and keeps answering when your signal drops. Set your base currency once and the whole list is priced in it. The currencies you actually use sit pinned at the top, each showing how it moved today. What it does? • 172 currencies, including gold, silver, platinum, palladium, Bitcoin and the IMF's SDR • Any currency as your base, not just the usual handful • Pin up to 5 favourites to the top by swiping a row to the right • See how each rate has moved over the last 24 hours • A converter with a real keypad, and one tap to swap the direction • Conversion history, so the number you worked out yesterday is still there • A home screen widget showing your favourites, with a shortcut into the converter • English and Bahasa Indonesia, switchable inside the app • Laid out properly for tablets, not just stretched Works without a connection Your last rates are saved on the phone. On a plane, in a basement car park, or on hotel wifi that refuses to load, the numbers are already there the moment you open the app, with a line telling you how old they are so you always know what you are looking at. No account, no tracking There is nothing to sign up for. Your favourites, your base currency and your conversion history stay on your device. The history especially is never sent anywhere. A list of what someone converts is not something worth collecting. Matawang is a reference tool. Rates are indicative and will differ from what a bank, a money changer or a card network actually gives you.
