Unlimited on-device listening, free. No ads, no account. Éist turns EPUBs, PDFs, fanfic links and articles into natural-sounding audiobooks, with read-along highlighting synced to the audio. Éist (pronounced "esht", Irish for "listen") is an offline-first text-to-speech audiobook reader. Import a book, choose a voice and press play. Download a voice once and listen offline, with speech generated on your phone. ★ NEW: CLOUD ASSIST ON ANDROID Love a Kokoro voice but your phone can't keep up? Turn on Cloud Assist and Éist can prepare the next part of your book online, in the Kokoro voice you chose. Balanced mode is free, with up to 60 minutes of generated speech a day. Premium adds Save battery mode and up to 8 hours a day. Listening to audio already on your phone stays unlimited. Cloud Assist is off until you choose it. When it's on, upcoming text excerpts are sent to Éist and independent cloud providers, whose operators can access them. It can use mobile data, which you can turn off. Pick Device only at any time to keep speech generation on your phone. ★ READ ALONG AS YOU LISTEN Follow one word at a time, synced with the narrator, with the focal letter highlighted. Use the sync dial to adjust the timing. Read-along helps with focus, dyslexia support and language learning. Free includes 30 minutes of read-along per day; Premium removes that limit. ★ YOUR BOOKS, FANFIC AND ARTICLES Import EPUB or PDF ebooks, paste a fanfic link from Archive of Our Own (AO3), FanFiction.net or Royal Road, or add an article or pasted text. Éist turns it into a chaptered audiobook.
