First release of GreenTap. - One tap on the green "I'm fine" button, and your people see you're OK - Statuses: green — on time, amber — overdue, red — silent for over two intervals - Your own interval, from an hour to two weeks; a reminder before the deadline - Home screen widget: one tap checks you in, two open the app - A notification when someone close to you goes quiet - People are added with a code; the link is always mutual - No location, contacts or messages
Check in that you're fine. The people who care see it in one glance.
An SOS button is red. GreenTap is the green one — the quiet opposite of an alarm. Nobody presses a panic button here. You simply check in that you are fine, and the people close to you see it on their list — a green dot next to your name. HOW IT WORKS You choose how often you check in: every 6, 12, 24, 48 or 72 hours, or your own number of hours. Your rhythm is yours alone — someone living on their own may want a daily check-in, someone hiking for a week may want one every three days. One tap on "I'm fine" and the timer starts again. Your people see: • green — checked in on time • amber — the interval has run out • red — silent for longer than two intervals • grey — no check-ins yet That is the whole interface. No map, no chat, no feed. HOME SCREEN WIDGET Put GreenTap on your home screen. One tap on the widget checks you in without opening the app; two taps open it. The ring around the button shows how much of your interval is left, and the circle inside is split into sectors — one per person, each in the colour of their status. WHEN SOMEONE GOES QUIET If someone close to you stays silent for longer than two of their intervals, their card turns red and GreenTap sends you a notification — even when the app is closed. You can switch this off in Settings. REMINDERS GreenTap reminds you shortly before your interval runs out, and once more when it does. The reminders are local: no server, no push service, no account needed for them to work. ADDING PEOPLE Everyone gets a six-character code. You exchange codes, and from that moment you see each other. The link is always mutual — GreenTap has no way to watch someone who is not watching you back. Either side can break the link at any time. WHAT GREENTAP DOES NOT DO It does not track your location. It does not read your contacts or messages. It does not call emergency services. If someone goes silent, GreenTap shows a colour — what to do next is up to the people who know them. WHAT IT STORES A name you choose, a six-character code, your interval, and the time of your last check-in. That is all. You can erase it from the app in two taps. WHO IT IS FOR People living alone. Parents whose grown children moved away. Friends who hike, drive, or work night shifts. Anyone who would rather send a quiet signal than a daily "are you alive?" message. GreenTap is made by Nearfolk, the studio behind the Halo safety app. Halo raises the alarm when something goes wrong; GreenTap says that nothing did.
