Community Welfare Platform, Carpooling and On-Demand Services
Ride-hailing (DRT) is a service that sits halfway between public transportation (the same ride every day, the same predefined route, and a low cost) and taxis (the service is just for you, at the time you choose, for your journey, and a high cost). DRT operates where you need it, when you need it. An example: You need to go to the hospital for a visit next Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. You book your ride, and the van picks you up at home (or at a stop not far from your home). On the way to the hospital, the van will pick up a person who works at a company near the hospital and a student who needs to be taken to the station. The van will take a route designed to be the fastest to serve all three passengers, ensuring that all three arrive at their destinations on time. The cost of this type of service cannot be that of a scheduled bus nor that of a taxi.
