Been using osmand since 2012. Then the + version came out and I bought that along with the contour line pulgin in 2014 to get the new features. And now the things I paid for are behind a second pay wall.

Thank you for supporting OsmAnd since 2012! Contour lines remain included in OsmAnd+ without additional costs. Could you tell us which features are asking you to pay again? Please send a screenshot to support@osmand.net so we can investigate.
Its Great For Road Trip
the best
good app, but the precision of the location and which way I'm facing is super bad. compared to CoMaps which always knows which way I'm facing. also, recalculating routes on the fly when walking takes forever while Comaps adapts super quickly. I prefer osmand for the many options and functions, but the basics seem to lack. please fix it

Sorry about the positioning, heading and rerouting issues. For walking, please try Compass direction mode. Email support@osmand.net with your OsmAnd/Android versions, a route example and, if possible, a screen recording. Does rerouting take too long to start, or is the calculation itself slow?
After 5+ years of regular use: great for simple offline maps, but a complete trainwreck of a UI for anything beyond that, even simple directions. The location search fails all the time, using stored routes is confusing, it's impossible to add waypoints that don't cause backtracking, etc. 50 thousand features that no one uses, but the 3 main ones are a huge pain. This is nothing close to Google Maps.

Thank you for using OsmAnd for over 5 years. Please send a failed search example and a route showing unwanted backtracking to support@osmand.net so we can investigate. Your feedback helps us identify where the interface needs improvement.
love the customization options
Please fix your servers, updating maps is really annoying and slow 🐌🐌🐌
Developer reply
Sorry about the slow map updates! We recently added a dedicated server for North America to improve download speeds. Could you try again and let us know if it’s faster? If it’s still slow, please email support@osmand.net with your country and the maps you’re updating.
I have been using this app for years and love it. But every update brings more lag and more bugs. Please do more testing before you roll out an update. Until now, there is no viable alternative for this navi. The only two improvements that would be great: Trafic, or at least "closed roads" and a (much) bigger diffedence in zoom-level with auto-zoom.
Developer reply
Thanks for your long-time support! Sorry about the lag and bugs. Please send your device model, OsmAnd version and examples, ideally a screen recording, to support@osmand.net so we can investigate. Thank you also for suggesting traffic/road closure information and a wider auto-zoom range.
Very capable but UX is confusing. Address search is unreliable.
Edit 24 Sept 2026: The last update broke the layout. Thr 3d button now floats towards the middle of the screen. Great app, but you need to add the option for permission to "Allow all the time". Now only the "allow only while app is in use is available.

Hello! Thank you for the feedback. A screenshot and your exported profile settings would help us reproduce this. Export them in Menu → Settings → Profile → Export and send both to support@osmand.net.
