Your NICWON Attendance, notices, and notes to the office.
NICWON attendance is the Admin app for NICWON — Chhoto Jhilpar Nicwon, Centre for Performing Arts, Howrah, West Bengal. It is an internal tool. You need a NICWON Member account, created for you by the office, to use it — there is nothing here for the general public and nothing to browse without signing in. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Today — your check-in and check-out as they were recorded, the hours you have worked so far, and your status for the day. • History — any month at a glance: which days were present, late, absent, a week-off or a holiday, with the times for each, and your totals for the month. • Your shift — the check-in time, check-out time and grace period that actually apply to you, and the days your department works. Both can differ from the office default, and the app shows yours, not the office's. • Inbox — a message for every scan of your badge, and notices from the office. • Notes — write to the administrator from your phone: report a late arrival, ask for a correction, explain an absence. You can optionally attach your location to a note. • Your badge — your QR badge is drawn on the phone itself, so it works with no signal and cannot be mislaid. • Profile — your Member details, department, designation and joining date, as the office holds them. SIGNING IN There is no password. Enter your work e-mail address and a six-digit code is sent to it. The code is good for about ten minutes. Your sign-in then lasts about thirty days of use on that phone, and signing in again on the same phone replaces the previous one. ATTENDANCE IS READ-ONLY HERE Only an administrator's scan of your badge creates an attendance record. This app shows your attendance; it never writes it, and it cannot be used to check yourself in. If something looks wrong, send a note from the Notes tab and an administrator can correct it. ABOUT LOCATION The app asks for location permission for one purpose: when you turn on "Attach my location" while sending a note. Your position is then read once, while you are looking at the app, and sent with that note to the administrator. The switch starts off and goes back to off after every note. There is no background location, no continuous tracking and no location reporting of any kind — the app cannot read your position while you are not using it. Attendance scans record no location at all. Notes send perfectly well with the switch left off. WHAT THIS APP DOES NOT DO • No advertising, and no advertising identifier. • No analytics and no tracking of any kind. • No crash reporting. • It never asks for the camera, your contacts, your photos, your files, your calendar or your microphone. • It works in English and Bengali, following the language you have chosen on nicwon.org.
