one bug gone another came up. listening live now is only restricted to the current program, I can't rewind to the previous program if I missed anything of it... Another update; still can't rewind to previous program. new bug, I can't go back to the full app experience and will have to kill the app to get back to the main menu. Seems like public radio is not meant to be public anymore, with every update bringing more reduced experience.

Playback stops unpredictably, not a wifi or 5g issue. I don't have the same problem on iOS. (2024) It's 2025 and this problem persists. Same in 2026 - It's a big shame the app is unusable for streaming on Android because of this problem. While I appreciate the WBUR reply to this review, I don't want to talk to troubleshooting, I'd like the app to "just work" like it does on iOS. Look at all the other reviews reporting this problem... Devs should pull logs and actually fix this.

After my local public radio station messed up its scheduling, the WBUR app allows me to continue to listen to my favorite programs at the times that I am able to listen to them.

This app used to work beautifully for me. It's the only NPR station app I can find where I can download the entire show (morning Edition/ ATC) and then play it back in full. As of December or January 2025- the app will time out if the WBUR screen is not up. In other words, if I switch to another app while listening to my download, the app cuts out. It basically makes it unusable. I was loving it so much. Listening on a pixel phone. I hope they can address these concerns.
