FIRST app I've found that allows cross-platform synchronization to plain text notes WITH offline access, and WITHOUT the use of services beyond Dropbox. On the Windows side: #1 Set a desktop shortcut to the Dropbox folder. #2 Modify properties > target and enter C:\Windows\explorer.exe, followed by the full path of the folder. The resulting File Explorer instance can be pinned to BOTH the Start Menu and the Taskbar. The windows text editor can be defaulted to anything you want.

really excellent app
Perfect simple tool
There is a bug where, if you write at the top of a text document, the app automatically scrolls down to the end of the document. Then if you start writing, it focuses back to the place you're at, only to go back to the end of the document men when you stop writing, even fire a second. This makes it impossible to write anything, making the app unusable. This is too bad because if this huge bug wasn't there, it's a great app

Hi Emil, thanks for the review. For feature requests it's best to write me an email, as I don't check the comments that often. Currently, the latest file selection should be preserved for the next apped dialog by default. Reply to update: I can't reproduce the bug on any of my devices. I'll try to find a fold device and then fix it.
Works well but voice-to-text is not always reliable. Sometimes stops while dictating for no reason, doesn't insert new line or new paragraph, makes it hard to space out notes.

Hi, voice-to-text is not part of the app, but it comes as part of the input method (system or the keyboard), so unfortunately there's not much the app can do about it.
An overall solid, useful app. It works well, and the ads are unobtrusive. One minor deficiency: it does not support entering horizontal tab characters.

edit on 3-19-2023 wow, can't believe it's been three years using this app. I'm reducing my rating because the search function is still sub-par. Please spend some time improving the search function within a document. I keep notes and need to search for keywords within them constantly. Searching for a word doesn't take me to the word. I still have to scroll down to find it. original was on 10-8-2020 Text editor with Dropbox sync. Have bought the license.

Didn't sync, doesn't show up as open file with option in dropbox, what's the point?

Not sure what do you mean. This app uses it's own folder on Dropbox and does not see any other files on your Dropbox account.
