Private journal, no need to watch your words. Mood tags and daily prompts
WickedPad: No Need to Watch Your Words Most journaling apps want you to become a better person, so they hand you gratitude lists and gentle affirmations. That works for a few days, and then the app sits there unopened. WickedPad is a diary where you never have to watch your words. Write the rant you cannot post, or the thing you would never say to their face. Grumble about the small stuff for as long as you like. There is no account and no feed, and your entries stay on your phone, so the only reader is you. WHAT IS IN THE PAD - Fast daily entries: open the app, pick your mood, write, done - 6 mood tags: great, calm, okay, anxious, sad, angry - Search your own history: find an old entry by a word you remember, or filter down to one mood. Search appears once you have 5 entries - Honest daily prompts, like "Who got on your last nerve today?" A different one every day - A note to yourself on save: a short line made on your device from your mood and entry, written like a friend who takes your side. Built from on-device templates, with no AI - Monthly recap at the start of a new month: entries, best streak, top mood and most-used words - Streaks and milestones. Miss a day and the count restarts, no lecture - Optional daily reminder at a time you pick (on Android 13 and newer the notification prompt appears when you turn it on) - Export every entry as plain text through the share sheet whenever you want - Four languages (English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese), picked from your phone's settings WHO IT IS FOR - People who found other journaling apps too earnest, too cloud-dependent or too expensive - Anyone who wants the honest stuff kept off someone else's servers - People who write about touchy things (work, relationships, grudges) and do not want an account attached to them - Anyone done paying a monthly subscription for a notebook ONE BANNER, AND WHERE YOUR ENTRIES LIVE WickedPad is free. It shows one small banner ad at the bottom of the entry list on the home screen, and nowhere else: never in the editor, never next to an open entry. Your entries are saved in the app's private storage on this phone. There is no account and no sync, WickedPad is excluded from Android's cloud backup, nothing from your journal is sent to us or to the ad provider, and deleting the app deletes them. Use Export if you want a copy. The ad itself is requested over the internet, so the ad provider receives the device and ad information any ad request carries. Where the law requires it (the EEA and UK), a consent form asks before any ad loads. Say no and the whole app keeps working. WHAT WICKEDPAD IS NOT - Not a social app: no feed, no following, no sharing - Not a productivity tool: no goals, tasks or calendars - Not therapy: a place to write, with no clinical advice - Not a cloud backup: WickedPad does not sync anywhere, so export what you want to keep Questions or feedback: contact+wickedpad@peppertree.so
