1.07 — A Rebuilt Measurement Engine, and Coaching When It Struggles • Far more accurate. The measurement engine has been rebuilt from the ground up. In tests against nearly 200 watches with known results, every reading landed within 2 s/d. • Copes with the air conditioning on. A long-standing flaw turned low rumble from fans, HVAC and mains hum into a false 10-per-second tick that could drown out the watch. It's fixed, and Tickscope now picks out much fainter watches in noisy rooms. • Ignores clicks and knocks. Tickscope now predicts exactly when each tick will land and listens only there, so taps on the table, another ticking clock or a loud metronome no longer throw off the reading. • Coaching when a measurement struggles. A card tells you what's getting in the way as you measure — background noise, faint ticks, clicks, the watch shifting, audio interruptions — and how to fix it. If a run can't produce a reading, Tickscope explains why, what it heard, and what to check. • Confidence you can trust. High now means high. When a reading is Medium or Low, you see what held it back and how to get a firmer one. No watch, no number: noise never produces a reading. • Beat error and amplitude are steadier, beat error stays right even with large asymmetry, and 36,000 bph watches are recognized reliably. • Magnetism Check, rebuilt. Turn your iPhone into a watchmaker's compass: pass your watch over it and see whether it swings the needle. A second mode measures the field around the places you keep your watch, against the ISO 764 anti-magnetic standard. If a reading runs fast, Tickscope suggests the test. • Anatomy of a tick. After each measurement, see your watch's escapement up close: the unlock, impulse and drop sounds averaged over its last beats, with the lift time behind the amplitude reading. • Readings in plain words — "gains about a minute every 19 days" — and a nod when a reading lands within chronometer limits. • On this day in horology: the Moon landing, the first quartz watch, the Trieste dive and more appear on their anniversaries, with a note when your own watch is part of the story. Your watches get anniversaries too. • A fresh look throughout: watch avatars in History, clearer trend charts you can tap to inspect, an honest COSC assessment with a fast/slow position chart, comparisons with your previous measurement, a moon-phase readout on the Clock, and a redesigned share card that shows your real trace. And a few things to discover. • Watch photos now sit neatly in their frames in your collection and on each watch's page, and caliber pages show the year each movement was introduced. • The audio sensitivity setting is gone — Tickscope now adapts to each watch on its own.
Tickscope is the complete companion for the mechanical watch lover — on the phone you already own. TIMEGRAPHER Rate, beat error, and amplitude, measured in seconds. No bench, no microphone hardware. Place your watch against the phone's microphone and read accuracy to ±1 s/d, the same numbers a $2,000 shop machine would give you. WEAR CALENDAR Log every watch you wear. A color-coded heat map shows your rotation by week, month, and year, with live stats on your most-worn pieces. Your rotation, finally visible. WATCHES Catalog your collection with photos, references, and full specs. Every timing session is saved per watch, so the measurement history is always tied to the piece it came from. HERITAGE Add a Rolex Submariner, an Omega Speedmaster, a Seiko SKX007 — Tickscope recognizes what it is.
