MAKE EVERY YARD COUNT FabricNest turns a list of rectangular pieces into a clear fabric cutting plan. Plan cushions, totes, curtains and small batches on iPhone or iPad. Check yardage before cutting. Work offline, without an account or subscription. START WITH YOUR FABRIC Create a project and enter fabric width, available length, edge margins and the gap between cuts. Choose inches, feet, yards, centimeters or meters. Add named pieces with dimensions, quantities, colors, notes and seam allowances. Allow or restrict 90-degree rotation for fabric and individual pieces. With grain locked, piece height stays along the fabric length. FROM FINISHED SIZE TO CUTTING SIZE Seam allowance expands all four edges, so layouts use cutting dimensions rather than finished dimensions. Plan up to 500 individual cuts in a project. Fabric width, seams, gaps and margins are checked together. Short stock? All pieces remain in the plan, with the missing length shown. COMPARE BEFORE YOU CUT Compare standard row packing in your piece order with a compact arrangement found by smart nesting. View both plans at the same scale, inspect numbered pieces and zoom into a fullscreen map. See required length, cutting area, unused area and material utilization. The app keeps the shorter valid plan; a project can correctly show no improvement when the standard arrangement is already as compact. UNDERSTAND PURCHASE ESTIMATES Enter a USD price per yard or meter and the increment in which you buy fabric. Review saved length, its estimated value and potential purchase savings separately. Each plan's purchase length is rounded up independently; exact-length purchasing is also supported. A shorter layout can still have zero purchase savings. Results depend on your inputs and buying increments, and existing stock does not produce a cash refund. KEEP CUTTING ORGANIZED Mark individual cuts complete and return to your progress later. Changes to pieces or fabric recalculate the plan. Cutting and export wait for current results. Restore the previous plan with its parameters and progress, or duplicate a project for another size or batch. 20 PRACTICAL STARTING POINTS Browse ten DIY and ten professional examples, with calculated previews. Explore cushions, market totes, table linens, curtains, quilt blocks, storage bins, laptop sleeves and pet-bed covers. Production examples include hotel linen, backdrops, totes and apron blanks. Copy an example into your library and adjust it. Preparation notes explain excluded materials and later shaping; examples are cutting plans, not complete sewing patterns. REPORTS, INSIGHTS AND LOCAL BACKUPS Preview, share or print a multipage PDF with parameters, comparison metrics, a vector cutting map and a numbered checklist with dimensions, coordinates, notes and progress. Reports are not full-size patterns. Insights summarizes current plans. Export and restore JSON backups; matching project IDs are replaced after confirmation, while other projects remain. PRIVATE, WITH CLEAR LIMITS Projects stay on your device. No server, ads, analytics or tracking; the project folder is excluded from automatic cloud backup, so keep your own exported copy. Nesting covers rectangles on one fabric layer and does not guarantee the shortest possible layout. Check real measurements, grain, print matching, folds, shrinkage and defects before cutting.
