First release. Orrery ascent through seven spheres, the Ogdoad and beyond (10, 20, 30 minutes or untimed), sphere explorer, flower-of-mind contemplation, sourced history of the Chaldean Oracles and theurgy.
Rise through the seven planetary spheres with the Chaldean Oracles, sourced.
In late antiquity Platonist philosophers treated the Chaldean Oracles as revelation and practised theurgy, 'divine work', to purify the soul and raise it toward the gods. Iamblichus defended it; Proclus and the emperor Julian wrote hymns in its spirit. Theurgia is an instrument for that ascent. An orrery of the ancient cosmos follows the soul out from the Earth through the seven planetary spheres, the Moon, Mercury, Venus, the Sun, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, to the fixed stars and beyond. At each sphere you set something down, as the Hermetic Poimandres describes, while the spheres you have passed fade behind you. Choose 10, 20 or 30 minutes, or go untimed. EXPLORE · The seven spheres: what the ascending soul sets down (Poimandres) and what the descending soul acquires (Macrobius), kept apart · The flower of mind: a single still contemplation after Oracle fragment 1 · The Oracles: the fragments, theurgy, Hekate, the soul's vehicle, and their Byzantine, Renaissance and occult readers SOURCES KEPT APART A · Primary text B · Byzantine & Renaissance Platonists C · Western esoteric D · Modern exercise S · Modern scholarship The guided ascent is a modern exercise built from ancient texts, not a reconstruction of a Chaldean rite.
