Identify plants by photo offline, then get care, watering and growing guides.
Identify plants by photo with a model that runs on your phone and works offline. Snap a leaf, flower or tree, see ranked matches, then open a care guide.
Plant ID helps you put a name to the plants you meet on a walk, in a park or in your own garden. Take a photo or pick one from your gallery and the app compares it with about 2,100 plants stored on your phone, so you do not need a signal. Then read how that plant grows, what it needs and whether it is a risk for pets or people.
It is made for hikers, gardeners and anyone curious about the plants around them. It is a learning aid, not an expert botanist, so treat every result as a suggestion to check.

Care and growing guides
Open a guide from a match or from the library:
Overview and how to recognize the plant
Planting and environment, spacing and growing indoors
 Watering, feeding and pruning
Light, soil, temperature, hardiness, mature size and bloom time
Propagation, uses, origin and fun facts
Pests and diseases with treatment tips
Toxicity and safety notes for pets and people
Library and reminders
A searchable plant library: look up a plant by common name, scientific name, family or type
My Garden: keep the plants you grow, up to five for free and unlimited with Premium
A care calendar with watering reminders for the plants you grow (Premium)
Plant health guide: three symptoms free, the full guide with Premium
Good to know
The model recognizes about 2,100 plants. It is strongest on wild plants, trees, garden flowers and weeds. It is weak on houseplants, so do not count on it for indoor plants such as pothos or snake plant.
Full care guides cover 58 popular plants and plant groups, and each group guide applies to many related species. For other matches you get a short summary and a link to read more, which needs an internet connection.
Never eat, brew or use a wild plant as medicine based on an app identification. Many plants have poisonous look-alikes, so confirm with a qualified expert. A missing toxicity note does not mean a plant is safe.
The app asks for no camera permission: the camera button opens your phone's own camera app, and the gallery picker shares only the photo you choose.
The app interface is in English.
Free, with ads
Plant ID is free to download and supported by ads: a banner at the bottom of the screen and a short full-screen ad that can appear after some identifications, once you close the results.
Free with ads. Premium removes ads and unlocks every premium feature: $3.99 per month, $39.99 per year, or $59.99 one time (lifetime). Prices may vary by country. Premium adds unlimited identifications and plants, the care calendar, reminders, the full health guide, history export and extra share cards. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel in Google Play under Payments and subscriptions. Lifetime is paid once.
Privacy
No account is needed. Your photos are analyzed on your phone and are not uploaded. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may use your device advertising ID depending on your consent choices. The internet is used only for ads, Premium purchases and links to Wikipedia. Read the privacy policy on our website.
Identification uses Google's open plant classifier. Guide text is compiled from open botanical sources.
