Conduit bending calculator for electricians: offsets, saddles, kicks, NEC fill.
Stub & Saddle is a conduit bending calculator for electricians. It works out every bend the way you mark it: in inches and sixteenths you can read straight off a tape measure, with each bend drawn to scale so you can check the layout before the pipe goes in the bender. One app covers EMT, IMC, rigid and PVC: an offset calculator, a saddle calculator, stub-ups and kicks, NEC conduit and box fill, and a 360° bend counter. Built for the job site, it works offline, needs no account, and has big buttons you can hit with gloves on. BENDS • 90° stub-up: take-up, the mark from the end of the pipe, and gain • 90° with a kick: kick angle, setback and both marks to hit a target • Offsets: distance between marks, shrink, and whether to lay out from the near or the far mark • Rolling offsets: true offset, how far to roll the pipe, and the mark spacing • 3-point saddles: center mark, side marks and total shrink • 4-point saddles: four marks and the flat span over a wide obstruction • Parallel runs: the stagger for each run and how much more pipe each one needs Every answer shows the tape reading first (14 3/8") with the decimal underneath. Round to the nearest 1/16" or 1/32". Measurements go in on a fraction keypad with every mark on a 1/16" tape on screen at once, so there is no fighting the phone keyboard. YOUR BENDER, NOT A GENERIC ONE Presets cover hand benders from Klein, Ideal and Greenlee for EMT, IMC, rigid and PVC, 1/2" through 1 1/4". If your shoe has worn, bend a 90, measure it once, and save your own deduct. It applies everywhere after that. COUNT BENDS BEFORE YOU PULL The 360° counter adds up the bends between pull points. Every bend screen has an "Add to run" button, so the count is what you actually bent. It warns you as you get close to 360°, while there is still time to plan the next pull point. FIELD TOOLS • Conduit fill: NEC Chapter 9 fill for EMT, IMC, rigid, PVC 40 and PVC 80, with the 53, 31 and 40 percent limits and the 60 percent nipple rule • Box fill: NEC 314.16 box fill with the worksheet shown line by line • Clinometer: read a bend angle off the phone, zeroed on the straight part of the pipe BUILT FOR THE CODE WHERE YOU WORK Pick your state, or let the phone find it, and the code tools show which NEC edition your state enforces, from the 2008 edition through 2026. Box fill counts equipment grounds by the rule of that edition, and the bend counter cites the right section. Chicago and New York City, which publish their own electrical codes, are listed separately. STUB & SADDLE PRO 3-point and 4-point saddles, rolling offsets, parallel runs, NEC conduit fill, custom bender deducts and local code adoption come with Pro, a one-time purchase through Google Play. No subscription and no account, and Pro keeps working offline once bought. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no ads and no tracking. Nothing you enter leaves the phone. The only permission is approximate location, and the app only asks for it if you tap "Use my location" to find your state. Presets and code tables are starting points. Always check against your own bender and the code your inspector enforces before you cut pipe. NEC and National Electrical Code are registered trademarks of the National Fire Protection Association.
