PyPI App is an unofficial, ad-free Android browser for the Python Package Index. NOT AFFILIATED WITH THE PSF. This app is not made by, endorsed by, or connected to the Python Software Foundation or the PyPI maintainers. It reads public PyPI data and nothing else. "Python" and "PyPI" are trademarks of the Python Software Foundation. Most PyPI apps are a web view pointed at pypi.org, and they share two problems: they spin forever waiting on badge images and third-party fonts, and their search is broken because pypi.org's search endpoint sits behind a bot challenge. This app fixes both. SEARCH THAT WORKS OFFLINE • The ~15,000 most-downloaded projects ship with the app and are searched locally, so results appear as you type — with no connection at all • An exact-name lookup runs against the JSON API in parallel, reaching all ~600,000 projects • An optional full name index for complete offline name coverage • Ranked by popularity, so "req" puts "requests" first • Sort by relevance, downloads or name; recent searches are kept NATIVE PACKAGE PAGES • Version, summary, release date, and yank status with the maintainer's reason • Copyable install command for pip, uv, uv pip, poetry, pdm, pipx or conda, with optional version pinning • Download counts for the last day, week and month • Requires-Python, licence, maturity, supported Python versions, keywords • Runtime dependencies and optional extras, each tappable through to its page • Full release history — switch to any version and the page reloads for it • Every distribution file with size, upload date and copyable SHA-256 • README rendered natively, or the real page in one tap COMPARE • Up to four packages side by side: versions, release recency, download volume, Python support, licence, dependency count, wheel availability, download size RELEASES • Newly published packages and the latest updates from PyPI's RSS feeds • A watch list that tells you which saved packages have shipped a new version LIBRARY • Bookmarks with notes, drag to reorder, multi-select to compare or remove • History, swipe to delete • Export and import the whole library as JSON A BROWSER THAT DOESN'T HANG • The page is revealed as soon as it is readable, not when the last badge image settles • A structured skeleton in the app's own theme instead of a spinner on white • A dead-air watchdog turns a silent server into a Retry button, not an eternal spinner • Offline is detected before the request is made, and the page reloads by itself when the connection returns • A hand-written dark stylesheet, not a colour inversion — code blocks and the logo survive EVERYWHERE • Light, dark and AMOLED themes, plus Material You wallpaper colours • App-wide text scaling and adjustable web text zoom • Data-saver mode that skips images • Everything you have opened is cached and readable with no connection • Configurable index server for mirrors and private devpi or Artifactory instances PRIVACY No accounts.
