Compress photos to JPEG XL with batch conversion and lossless quality options
Compress photos with JPEG XL and explore a modern way to store your images. JXL Converter converts HEIC, HEIF, JPG, PNG and WebP images into .jxl files, with quality controls to balance image detail and file size. Use it as a photo compressor for compatible image workflows, create compact copies of your pictures, or try lossless image compression without adding image-quality loss. Results depend on the source image and your settings: some converted files may be larger. PHOTO COMPRESSION WITH CONTROL Choose a quality preset or set a custom quality level. Lower quality settings trade some image detail for smaller files. Lossless mode avoids added image-quality loss, but cannot restore detail already lost in the original. Conversion keeps the source image dimensions rather than resizing your photos. CONVERT MULTIPLE IMAGES Select photos from your gallery or files and convert them together. Turn JPG to JXL, PNG to JXL, WebP to JXL, or HEIC and HEIF to JXL in one app. Review the original and converted file sizes to see the result of your compression settings. PREVIEW, SAVE AND SHARE Preview converted images inside the app, choose an output folder and share your results with compatible apps. Use ZIP export to package converted files together. Save your preferred quality, photo-detail and ZIP settings as presets for future batches. CHOOSE WHICH PHOTO DETAILS TO KEEP Select supported photo details such as capture date, camera information, copyright and GPS location, or remove photo metadata. Preservation depends on the source format and available information. PNG photo metadata is not supported. WHAT IS JPEG XL? JPEG XL is a newer image format that uses the .jxl file extension. It supports efficient lossy and lossless compression, giving you a choice between smaller files and preserving image detail. A JXL file is a different format from a JPG file, even though both names include JPEG. CHECK COMPATIBILITY BEFORE SHARING JPEG XL adoption is growing, with support in newer versions of major browsers, including Chrome and Safari. Support still varies by browser version, operating system, Android phone, gallery and app. A browser that opens JXL files does not mean every app on that device can open them. Check that the receiving app, website or device accepts .jxl files before sharing or uploading. Keep your originals when you need broad compatibility. JXL Converter creates JXL output; it does not convert JXL files back to JPG or PNG. PROCESSING ON YOUR DEVICE Image conversion runs on your device. The app contains ads and offers optional usage diagnostics. Cloud storage providers may use the internet when you select or save files.
