SoloRate works out the hourly rate you need instead of the one you hope for. Type in the take-home pay you want for the year. The app adds your tax set-aside, business expenses, payout fees, currency-conversion loss, unpaid weeks off and a realistic utilization figure, then works backwards to two numbers: the floor you must never go under, and the hourly rate to quote. FOUR WAYS TO PRICE Per hour, per day, monthly retainer, fixed-price project. Each is its own calculation rather than the hourly rate multiplied out: the day-rate premium, the retainer discount and the fixed-bid risk premium each show up as a separate, adjustable line. WHERE THE MONEY GOES A breakdown bar splits every billed unit of currency into take-home, buffer, tax, expenses, platform fee and conversion loss. Change one assumption and watch the number move. IS MY RATE NORMAL? Hold your hourly rate against ballpark ranges for 9 disciplines, 3 experience levels and 8 regions — and share the verdict as an image. TAX SET-ASIDE Country presets for the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France and Italy. For the US: filing status, 16 major state presets plus a manual percentage for any other state, and mixed W-2 + 1099 income, so a day job pushes freelance earnings up the brackets instead of being ignored. The optional quarterly reminders use US estimated-tax deadlines. WORK TIMER Start and stop a timer as you work. Hours accumulate per day, with a recent-days log you can read back. QUOTES AND PDF Turn the hourly rate into a client quote: estimated hours, scope-creep buffer, project expenses, deposit percentage, plus your own payment link or bank details.
