New app Icon. Rebuilt with a cleaner, matte design. Readings now clearly show whether altitude comes from the barometer or a GPS fallback, and each saved reading keeps its photo, location and time in History.
Altitude and air pressure from your phone's barometer, with a GPS fallback.
AltiBaro shows your altitude and the air pressure using your phone's built-in pressure sensor (barometer). How it works - Altitude is calculated from air pressure with the standard-atmosphere formula and a sea-level pressure that you can set. - On phones without a pressure sensor, altitude comes from GPS instead, and the pressure figure is estimated from that altitude. The app shows which source it is using. - Latitude and longitude are shown when location is available. Readings - Altitude in metres, feet, kilometres or miles. - Pressure in hPa, kPa, Pa, bar, atm, psi, mmHg or inHg, on a dial and as a number. - Save a reading with the time and your location, and add a photo from the camera if you like. History - Your saved readings, newest first, each with its photo, altitude, pressure and time. - Open a reading to see the details, share it as text with its photo, or delete it. Settings - Sea-level pressure (P0) in hPa, default units for altitude and pressure, and dark theme. Good to know - Barometric altitude changes with the weather. For a closer reading, set the sea-level pressure to your local value, for example from a weather report, before you start. - GPS altitude is usually less precise than GPS position and needs a clear view of the sky. - AltiBaro is for general outdoor use such as hiking. It is not an aviation or navigation instrument. - Readings work without an internet connection. No account is needed; saved readings stay on your device.
