FoilScan is a trading card scanner and collection manager for TCG collectors. Use a card photograph to find a suggested match, inspect available set details and price references, and keep a digital record of the cards you collect. It brings card identification and collection organization into one workflow.
Trading card identification
Photograph a trading card or import an image. Review its suggested name, game, set and rarity. Research supported cards from Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering or Yu-Gi-Oh! when a match is available. FoilScan is an independent app, not affiliated with those rights holders.
Price references
Inspect available low, middle and high price references and the displayed currency. Treat them as research information, since prices vary with condition, edition, language, demand and the source of the data.
Condition guidance
Where available, view image-based condition observations and a grade estimate. These are preliminary reference notes, not a certified grade, an authenticity check or a promise of sale value.
Collection inventory
Save recognized cards with quantity, condition and notes. Browse your collection to revisit scans, keep track of duplicate copies and associate a photo with a particular card.
Everyday uses
Useful when cataloging a binder, sorting a new group of cards or checking which set a familiar-looking card belongs to. A collection record can help you remember an item, while a physical inspection remains important before any purchase or sale.
How to use
Take a clear photo of one card, request a match, compare the set and identifying text, review any available reference information, then save quantity and collection notes.
Important information
Place the card flat, show all four corners and avoid reflections from foil surfaces or sleeves. Similar artwork may appear in different sets. Verify card numbers and editions rather than accepting a picture match alone. This is an independent collection tool, not an official grading service.
When a result needs another look
Blur, glare and hidden details can affect a recognition request. Retake a photo in even light rather than repeatedly submitting the same unclear image. A different angle may reveal a characteristic that was absent from the first view. Check the subject and the result side by side.
Learning from similar subjects
Use suggested names to guide a comparison, then look for a feature that separates one possible match from another. Color alone may not be enough. The printed markings, structure or appearance relevant to this app can help you form a more specific question for further research.
Keep physical and digital records connected
When cataloging a collection, ensure that each digital entry corresponds to the actual item or observation you intended to save. Check the selected photo before adding it. Similar-looking objects can be confused if you rely only on a name without reviewing the picture.
Prepare a second view
If the identifying details are hidden in the first picture, a second view can be more useful than a closer crop of the same image. Keep orientation and scale understandable. Do not damage an object, disturb wildlife or handle an unknown subject merely to improve a photograph.
Access and subscriptions
Some tools, higher usage limits or output options may require paid access. The app shows the available features, price and billing period before purchase. Google Play subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled. Manage or cancel a subscription in Google Play. Trial availability, if offered, is shown at checkout.
Privacy and permissions
Review the relevant permission prompts and the privacy policy for how information is handled. You decide which of your material to import, keep or share. Check the selected content and destination before sharing a result. Online features require connectivity.
