Excel Function and Formula introduces function syntax, examples, and a lesson.
Excel Function and Formula is an educational reference for spreadsheet functions and formula patterns. It explains what a function does, how the syntax is written, and how a sample is worked. The reference text is stored in the app. Search, the calculator, and lessons open when the device has a usable internet connection. Excel Function and Formula lets you search by a function name or by a short description. You can also browse a category and open a function page. A page sets out the purpose, the syntax, examples, and related functions. You can copy a formula or an example from the page. Read the page in Excel Function and Formula before you copy a formula into a spreadsheet. Categories cover Math and Trigonometry, Logical Functions, Text Functions, Date and Time Functions, Lookup and Reference, Statistical Functions, Financial Functions, Information Functions, Database Functions, Engineering Functions, Dynamic Array Functions, Compatibility Functions, Web Functions, Cube Functions, Array and Lambda Functions, Mathematical Aggregation, Counting and Conditional Functions, Error Handling, Excel Table and Data Analysis, and Advanced Formulas and Business Calculations. Dynamic array and LAMBDA pages note where Microsoft 365 or Excel 2021 behavior applies. Excel Function and Formula includes a formula calculator for a defined set of functions. Use it only when the function page marks the calculator as available. A successful calculation is the result of that work. Any other name returns #NAME?, and the app does not invent a result. The calculator uses a sample grid. It does not open, edit, or save spreadsheet files on your device. Lessons are optional practice. They include adding a column of numbers, averaging a list of scores, marking a score as pass or fail, removing extra spaces, seeing the difference between COUNT and COUNTA, extracting a first name, totaling one region's sales, flagging duplicate IDs, calculating a percentage change, finding a salary in another table, looking up a value with INDEX and MATCH, using XLOOKUP for an exact match, calculating a monthly loan payment, returning the rows that match, and calculating a weighted average. Completing a lesson does not change files on your device. Excel Function and Formula can save a function to Favorites. Recently opened functions, searches you submit, and calculator results stay on the device until you delete them. In Settings you can delete one history item or clear a whole history after you confirm. You can switch among system, light, and dark appearance. There is no account and no sign-in. Students, office learners, and people building spreadsheet skill can read a function before they type it. Keep Excel Function and Formula beside your class notes when a function name is new. The library includes names used in class and at work, such as SUM, AVERAGE, IF, COUNTIF, SUMIF, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEX, MATCH, TEXT, LEFT, RIGHT, MID, DATE, TODAY, NETWORKDAYS, PMT, FV, and IFERROR, along with many others. It does not include every Excel function. Check an important formula in your own spreadsheet before you rely on it for work, school, or money decisions. A function page is for reading, not for changing a workbook. Compare the syntax with the example, notice which argument is required, and test the idea on sample numbers. If the calculator cannot run that name, use the explanation and always check the result there. Excel Function and Formula is published by TPH Software BD. It is an independent educational reference. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Microsoft. Excel is a trademark of Microsoft. No Microsoft logo is used. When you are ready, open Excel Function and Formula and start with one function you already use. Turn on Wi-Fi or mobile data, search or browse, open the page, save it if you want it later, and try a lesson or the calculator when the page says the calculator can run it.
